Hey guys and girls!
It's been a while since I've touched base with you lot and I'm delighted to finally get around to doing it. Its been a crazy summer filled with job after job, which is a good sign.
I've been gathering a bunch of tunes for the 2nd album and I've so much material still to work on. I'm so excited about putting it all together and finally completing the follow up album from Pleasant Square.
The big news to report is that the new www.robotnik.mu website is up and running. It's got a fancy video wall for you to feast upon. I'm well excited about this new site because its easier to keep in touch with you lot about everything and also its much easier for you to interact with. Big thank you to Martin Osborne and Paddy O'Brien for getting it up and running. Legends.
Two main festivals to talk about.
1. Casltepalooza: A great Irish festival with the likes of Mercury Rev headlining this year. Robotnik is playing on Saturday 31st July at 19.40pm on the Boudoir Stage. For more details on the festival visit www.castlepalooza.com
The Robotnik team made a neat little promo video for this years Robotnik's performance @ Castlepalooza. Check out the silly video here
2. Milk Festival: The very first Gay and Lesbian music festival in Ireland. Its on on the 14th August in Ballinlough Castle, Co. Meath. Acts include Roisin Murphy, Sophie Ellis bextor, Bananarama, Right Said Fred, Seb Fontaine and of course Robotnik! For more details on the festival visit www.milk2010.ie
So you are probably wondering why I've been so busy over the summer period and why havn't I been in touch. Well to be honest with you I've been working extremely hard in putting together a TV pilot for Irish television.
The show is called World Of Wonky. In a nutshell, its a lo-fi comedy show about everything wonky within the world. I've no idea if it will actually get broadcasted on RTÉ (Irish) television, but the crew and myself had such an amazing time making it over the last few weeks.
Below is a picture of the green screen studio we used to shoot studio shots. The guy you see sitting beside me is a great comedian called Colum McDonnell.
RTÉ 2XM's Robotnik's Random Rampage dedicates an entire show to the taboo world of "SEX FETISHES". Ever heard of Burusera, the Japanese term for a panty fetish? Are you an Acrotomophiliac: the attraction to amputees and the fascination with being an amputee? There's even a fetish of dressing up in Pink Panther costumes while getting laid.
While Chris Morrin discusses the most shocking fetishes known to mankind in the RTÉ studios, he takes time out to play some tunes from the best of the best within the music industry.
To listen to the show whenever you want just visit this link You can also tune into the show at RTE 2XM every Tuesday 7pm and Friday 6pm (GMT time).
With love,
Chris - Robotnik
