Where the hell is the year going? I cant believe St Patricks Day is only a week away. Feels like yesterday when I was stuffing myself with Xmas food.
Anywho, welcome all of you again to the brand new Robotnik newsletter. Ive tons of news for you – German/Austrian/Irish March and April dates,
working on 2nd album, People Walk Away EP release with German label Future Pop Stuff & working with The Strokes producer Gordan Raphael.

Since the last time we touched base with each other Ive managed to do alot of gigs, touring with my friend Erik Penny around Germany and recording. I wanna say hi to everyone I met in Munich, Hamburg and Koln last week. Those gigs were really special and I cant wait to meet you all again.

The first Robotniks Random Rampage show in Glashaus Arena in Berlin was a hugely successful night. Thanks again to Barbara Panther and Sneaky for performing so well. You can see all the nights antics on this cool video right HERE.

ROBOTNIKS RANDOM RAMPAGE 2 is this SATURDAY NIGHT in Berlin! 13th March. Im very excited about this one cause not only do I get a chance to play again in Berlin, but I also share the stage with the band The Ettes. These guys will be rocking it out after me and hopefully bring the Glashaus Arena crashing down to its knees.

This night will also be the celebration of my first record release in Germany. Im proud to announce that the People Walk Away EP is being released by German label Future Pop Stuff. Gordan Raphael (The Strokes producer) fell in love with the song People Walk Away and I was so delighted when he asked me if could he do his own remix of the track. Its savage! The tracklisting of the EP is as follows:

1. People Walk Away (radio Edit)
2. People Walk Away (Album Version)
3. People Walk Away (Gordan Raphael Remix Radio Version)
4. People Walk Away (Gordan Raphael Remix Full Version)
5. Frooty Loops
6. No Atmposhere No Life
7. Michael Grady Went To Mexico

The gig went really well in Berlin a couple of weeks back. Thanks to everyone for coming. Things are very busy at the moment with working on the 2nd album and preparing for the People Walk Away release mid March in Germany/Austria. Lots of news to tell you in a couple of weeks with new shows popping up in Ireland in March too. For now have a look at this video below showing all the antics of the last Robotniks Random Rampage in Berlin:

Also you can check out behind the scene’s of the whole Berlin trip plus some work in the studio at my vBlog right here:

01-01-10 Welcome!

What you are looking at is the brand new Robotnik official website. Its quite obviously in its early stage’s and as the days and weeks progress it will be regularly updated and finely tuned to perfection, hopefully.

Alot has been happening with moving out from the place were I started to record the second album. Ive spent a year living in a big building with loads of my friends and finally it will be coming to an end at the end of January. Ive spent alot of time making music in this place and I want to talk the whole crew of people for being so much fun. You can see some fun times on my vBlog HERE.

Ive been in the beginnings of recording the 2nd album over the last month. Ive managed to track songs like Frooty Loops, No Atmosphere No Life, Cologne, Why and Madness in the studio. Its very exciting mixing them down and working with Martin again. Im hoping to have all tracks done by the end of March. Sounds far away but the next 2 months are a monster busy time with touring, recording with Robotnik and also Readers Wives, the other musical project I play in.

Watch some live show videos. Just before Xmas, Robotnik played at the TIVOLI THEATRE in Dublin and in a BIG BLUE BUS FOR VICE MAGAZINE (you’ll find it in the Bodytonic feature video).

Currently Im not gigging anywhere in Ireland in January. This is because of heavy recording. However, I am making a visit to Germany at the end of the month. Im delighted to host/perform the very first “Robotniks Random Rampage” at the Arena Glashaus Berlin on the 28th January. Below is the poster for the show. Thanks Ms. Shawna Scott for taking the photo:

Myself and Martin decided to make a funny video of me killing a snowman in order to promote the Robotniks Random Rampage show. Check out the video HERE.

I will be performing live on radio next week in Berlin too:
KEN FM – 24th January @ 5.45pm
MOTOR FM – 28th January @ 3pm

Since Ive started living half my life in Berlin, a lot more activity will be happening there this year. I will be re releasing my debut album ‘Pleasant Square’ in April in Europe. Whats more exciting is the release of the new “People Walk Away” EP in march. The EP will have a few remix’s of People Walk Away from a really great producer and musician who is based in Berlin. Cant tell you who it is just yet hehehe. The EP will also have new Robotnik material on it! Apart from the European activity, I know for definite Robotnik live shows will be happening locally in Ireland very soon. Will keep you posted for sure on that one. For up to date information on any news you can always check the main page at robotnik.mu

In the meantime you can keep in touch with me through Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and if you’re a little bit bored of listening to the same music everyday you can also tune into my radio show at RTE 2XM every Tuesday 7pm and Friday 6pm (GMT time). This show is called Robotnik’s Random Rampage. I play all types of music and talk about random facts, stories and whatever the hell I want to be honest :)

Mucho Love,

Chrisnik
